Monica,

I'm so glad you're back! I truly admire your courage to post your fiction and am so happy that you're doing so, especially if it's an important part of you.

Believe me, I know how much courage it takes to open up and put a piece of yourself out there -- whether in a blog post, poetry, or a short story. This is a great step for you, and I'm excited to see where it will take you.

Onto your story: I really like the concept. Those four basic, primal needs, it seems, can also lead to the most vulnerable moments. I especially liked how you broke everything up -- provided story as well as a bit of philosophy in your words.

Don't be afraid to really go for it; the best thing about being a writer is that you can say anything (and edit it back later, if you choose). Try playing around with your language as well -- experiment with language and imagery and see where it can take you. You've got something strong; now let it surprise you.

All the best wishes.
